The poet Lord Bryon is a gift to anyone who likes a good story - a famous man with a wonderful literary legacy and a flamboyant lifestyle which included love affairs (hence the quote above from one of his former mistresses, Lady Caroline Lamb), politics and wild house parties.
Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire was Byron's family home, a suitably Gothic former monastery set in stunning parkland.
We led a series of workshops with museum managers, front of house staff, curators, volunteers, educators and programmes specialists where we explored the many stories that can be told about Byron, his ancestors and the later owners of the house, identifying the spririt of Byron and how we might use it to interpret his home.
We produced the Newstead Abbey Interpretation Strategy and helped the team with planning, concept development and writing new room-based content.
